Cumberland Climbing Co. – Terms & Conditions

By visiting this website or placing an order, you agree to the terms outlined below. Please read them carefully before purchasing or using any products.

1. Products, Pricing, and Processing

Handcrafted Nature: All items sold by Cumberland Climbing Co ("CCC") are handcrafted to order. Because each piece is made by hand, slight variations in wood grain, color, and finish are normal and should be expected—these are part of what makes a handmade product, not a defect.

Pricing & Payment: Prices are listed in USD and are subject to change without notice. Payment is due in full at the time of purchase.

Processing: Orders typically take 1–2 weeks to build before they ship, and are sent via USPS. Please review our Shipping Policy for full details.

2. Warning Disclaimer & Assumption of Risk

Inherent Dangers: Climbing, bouldering, and the grip- and finger-strength training associated with these activities are inherently dangerous. CCC products, including hangboards, crimp blocks, and related training equipment, carry a real risk of injury—including strains, tendon issues, and pulley injuries—if used improperly or without adequate preparation.

User Responsibility: Any person using a CCC product is personally responsible for learning proper technique, following proper mounting and installation guidance, and exercising good judgment. CCC strongly recommends consulting a physician or qualified professional before beginning a training program, and progressing gradually rather than training at maximum intensity right away. Users are responsible for inspecting equipment before each use, and for discontinuing use of any product that is damaged, worn, or has been improperly modified.

Universal Application: This warning and assumption of risk applies to any person who uses a CCC product, regardless of whether that person was the original buyer. A buyer who allows another person to use a product must ensure that person is aware of these risks. By purchasing or using our products in any manner, you acknowledge and accept these risks.

3. Refund & Limited Warranty Policy

No Refunds: Every board we make is handcrafted to order specifically for you. Because of this custom nature, we are unable to offer refunds.

1-Year Limited Warranty: We pour our full attention and craftsmanship into every single order. If your board breaks under normal use within one (1) year of the shipment date, send it back and we will repair or replace it at our sole discretion.

What is covered:

  • Structural failure (cracks, splits, hold breakout)

  • Manufacturing defects

What is not covered:

  • Normal wear (edge rounding, surface patina)

  • Accidental damage, abuse, damage from improper mounting or outdoor exposure

  • Boards that have been altered, modified, or refinished

Warranty Claims: To claim a warranty, email CumberlandClimbingCo@gmail.com with proof of original purchase and a photo of the damage within a reasonable time after discovery. The buyer's sole and exclusive remedy under this warranty is repair or replacement.

4. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Duration of Implied Warranties: ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES APPLICABLE TO CCC PRODUCTS, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE STRICTLY LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE ONE (1) YEAR TERM OF THE EXPRESS LIMITED WARRANTY ABOVE.

Limitation of Liability: TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CCC SHALL HAVE NO LIABILITY FOR ANY LOSS, INJURY, OR DAMAGE CAUSED, IN WHOLE OR IN PART, BY THE USE, MISUSE, OR MOUNTING OF A PRODUCT. IN NO EVENT SHALL CCC BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM THE PURCHASE OR USE OF OUR PRODUCTS, EVEN IF CCC HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

State Law Rights: Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

5. Intellectual Property

All content on this site—including text, photos, designs, and the Cumberland Climbing Co name and logo—is the property of Cumberland Climbing Co and may not be copied or used without permission.

6. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Hampshire. We may update these terms from time to time, and continued use of the site or our products constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
